Social disintegration

Social disintegration

A Poem by Rosencrantz

Like Steinbeck, I quietly watch my America collapse. My people, my generation, brainwashed, abused, suffocated in putrid trends. In hatred, in ignorance, in desensitization. I watch in horror as we expend our best, as we rocket ourselves towards morality relinquishment.

I watch quietly with a muted voice against millions of rotting souls.
Cause nobody will listen to me. I'm just another one of the millions. With opinions, but without power. I have freedom, but no power! Thank you sweet liberty.

All of the empty eyes. The TV flickers over their liquid like surfaces. The radio commands them to follow propaganda.

Here it comes. The apocalypse. The Armageddon. The final tidal wave. The last war.
Silenced now under all of these neon lights. New drugs, new kicks. New pornography. New politicians, new rules. New reality TV show.
Smothered in artificial confabulation. The ignorance and hatred and lust grows like a cancer.
We unwilling give ourselves into the most disgusting influences.
Here we are..on the brink of a new era.

Here at the end of dignity and the rise of corruption, of malice and misconceptions. All of that work, not enough to save us. Sorry Lennon, Mandela. sorry Jesus. Sorry Martin Luther King Jr..sorry Krishna. Sorry Kennedy. I'm sorry. I'm sorry Bob Dylan. I'm sorry Gandhi. Send my condolences to the Pope. Tell the Dalai Lama I feel pretty bad too.

We vitiate ourselves and create our own doom. But who am I to say? I am a muted voice in millions.
