Frustration

Frustration

A Poem by Micco Gibson
"

All I do ends up in failure. Will this be different?

"

I watch all the others around me excel
While all I do is try and fail
For them, everything comes so easily,
So effortless, so casually
While I sit here and struggle
They seem to laugh at my trouble
Left behind in a cloud of dust,
I just feel ready to bust
because of my

Frustration

My fingers slip out of tune
the bow stutters on the string
I can't even rhyme the lines together
What's the point in trying?
It's all forced anyway.
I look at others and try to find
one thing I can do better than them
But for every one, they have two
that they are better at than I.

Frustration

I don't get mad at the others
I get mad only at myself
And my own hopeless ventures
Why do I even Bother?
"It doesn't even matter" they say
As long as you have fun
But, I ask,
How can I have fun
When I can't stop feeling inadequate?

Frustration

I throw down the notebook
Rip out the earphones and
Lock myself in my room.
Try to find sanctuary in other things
That I enjoy.
But in times like this,
No matter what I do
No matter how hard I try
Everything always ends up in

Frustration!

Your comment is extremely hilarious and ironic at the same time.
It is true. We all feel insignificant at times.
Except for some elite few, narcissists etc...

I feel that way all the time. I'm always trying to do better.
I actually understand and I can relate to this poem.

People think I'm superhuman because I am better than some of them in their studies.
What they don't realise is that I actually studied.
And I understand and listen to the teacher's ravings and rantings.
Then, they feel that they can't do it.

Well I feel that way at times too.
They just can't see through their rose-coloured glasses.

Sometimes I think that what you need to realise is that you don't have to bother about others.
They have their special talents and you have yours.
They have found theirs so now its YOUR turn to find yours :D

Think of it in a different way, buddy.
You life will turn on a dime. :B

Very relatable and interesting; nice use of purposeful rhyme scheme.

Amen chief. What I love, and don't change it, is that it's very rough. Sometimes the rhymes aren't just right or it sounds a little tried when you say it aloud, but that's the WHOLE POINT of the poem! It's brilliant! I totally love it!

I can relate to this whole piece, and I appriciate your words! KEEP GOING, even when its frustrating (ahh, look who's saying this, looks like I have to heed my own words now:P ) and hopefully in the end it will all work out!

NO ONE CAN MAKE YOU FEEL INFERIOR WITHOUT YOUR CONSENT!

-what I tell myself every day before I walk into school.
