Tunnel Vision.

Tunnel Vision.

A Poem by Micaela
"

I had someone who made me feel as if they were the world. When they left my world got bigger somehow.

"
I was too young to understand you,
Too simple minded to see what lay ahead.
I, being the only one to truly see you.
You, being the only light I ever needed.

When you left the colour drained from everything - even my face.
When you said you'd be back
I was too innocent.
Too simple minded to see what lay ahead.

I am putting roots down now,
I do not know everywhere I have been
I do not know where I am going.
The colour you drained came back in drips.

I went from blues and grey's to reds and golds.
Something switched in my brain.
Like my eyes knew you were not the only thing to see.
The world is brighter than you made me believe,
You were the glimmer at the end of the tunnel.

Not the haven that lay on the outside.
