Dear Mind

Dear Mind

A Poem by M

Dear Mind,

What is real and what is not?

Is this tombstone I look at
With my name in twist and curves

The dearly departed
With whom was dearly loved
And will be missed
Real?

The dirt that coat my nails
Giving me proof of this grave I dug

The body they lowered before
Didn’t seem like the one I once wore

With holes that bore upon my heart
I don’t remember it being so torn apart

Then there’s my lips
How chapped and broken they look

As if they never touched another

And showed proof of the times

When I screamed about the horrors

That evaded my mind

But my eyes how lifeless they seem

They once held a light, I think?

They seem so hollow and empty

What happened to me

What happened to me

What happened to me

I wonder

Is this the truth

The funeral I once dreamed

My ending but my souls beginning

Yet I wonder will I awaken or is this

The never ending slumber I once dreamed of?

But what is real and what is not?

Sincerely,
M

oh you write so uniquely... very expressive one... haven't seen that before... hopefully we can try it as an experiment if we would be able to do so... great work :)
