Shutting Down

Shutting Down

A Poem by Mia Rockwell
"

Another old one from when I was 18

"
Disease coursing through my blood
Affecting brain cells and nerves.
Slowly shutting down any spec of emotion.
I still know what I should feel,
Still confused on why I don't

There are no tears in what I know is sadness
No rage in what I know is anger
No genuine smile nor laugh in what I know is happiness
There is no comfort or warmth in what I know is love.

Emptiness. Blank stares into the distance.
Is this what is the living dead?

I think this is insightful and alluring. I think you should add an image for your readers to get a more real sense of what you are saying.

I will read more of yours..
