The Fool I Am

The Fool I Am

A Poem by Mia Rockwell

In those moments when you think you actually found something enjoyable, it leaves you.
And you stand there like the fool you are.

The fool I am.

To think I had found someone who I could come to withstand.
To talk to, laugh with...trust?

I've slipped and fell again.
He picked me up into a fantasy land only to crush it with the mask I had not seen.

I've no more time for figurative day dreams.

Oh the fool I am.
