It's All Part Of Life

It's All Part Of Life

A Poem by Mia Rockwell
"

So clearly I have unresolved issues about the topic at hand

"
Why does death make people weird?
I laugh and I joke though I just lost someone close
People nod and they hug with pity in their eyes,
"She's bottling her emotions so we won't see her cry"
It's tears that you want, for them to be shed?
Shed for someone that's now better off dead?
Death is a part of life, won't you see?
Am I the only one that's paying attention to reality?
I'm cast off as heartless because I won't play the game of make believe that everyone is supposed to live forever
I'm lost in the world of social standards where grief after death is a public endeavor.
I'm only this way for I've already made peace.
Back before the death, when no one bothered to talk to me
So now that they reach out I push them away.
They aren't worth unveiling to the feelings held in all day.
Why does death make people weird

Why are you holding back, sorry but I can feel it.

Beautiful piece.
You have a nice way with words.
And the way you ask question
instead of bashing heads all the way makes for it to be more easily digested
by a broader audience.
This is a really good piece and i like it a lot.
It is really nice.
