What Did You Gain?

What Did You Gain?

A Poem by Mia Rockwell

Evaluate. Manipulate. Eliminate.
The plan was carried out throughly
Trustable. Loveable. Destructible.
Why did you only want to hurt me?

Deserving I was for what I had done,
I truly never meant to hurt him
Flirtation demons had went to far
The ice was way to thin

But what I had to endure,
was far from deserving, I am sure.
I'm not like you. I didn't set out with a plan of pain.
Tell me honestly, what did you gain?

You beat and tortured a happy life
Chopped it all up with your razor sharp knife
Soaked in in poison, tour off its skin
The whole time it happened you still wore that grin

Bruised and battered, bent out of shape
Thank God I broke free before it was too late
But someone will help me, if I stick it through
And I'll leave behind the horrid memories of you
