Black Skies

Black Skies

A Poem by MiLk
"

I was down.

"

The sky is black.

My heart is the sky that was sometimes blue.

Now without you it’s always pitch black.

The blue skies I once loved will never be back.

The rain of pain left no rainbow.

I went insane because I stayed up for three weeks in a row.

The only thing I wanted was for your love to remain.

Instead your hate came down on me like a shower of acid rain.

Overnight I watched your ‘love’ for me spiral down the drain.

Now all I can do is pray to a God that I’m not sure exists,

I’ve got scars on my heart and scars on my fists.

As the pain persists, the cuts and the scars will begin to cover my wrists.

Well this is depressing... but it was still a very good poem. I think my favorite line was: I’ve got scars on my heart and scars on my fists.

I also liked the bit about the rain of pain leaving no rainbow. It sucks how rain in nature leaves something beautiful as like an apology... but that almost never happens in human nature.

I'm hoping this isn't current events. One way or the other, we have to garner a lot of scar tissue to walk away from our programming...
