![]() I'm Still WaitingA Poem by Epipsychologist![]() It was cold, but the sun made everything colder.![]() I’ve lived a fast life, now, with some regrets Floating out, but unignorably there. I had something to say when we last met, Fading out with the sun down the path, Where little flickering leaves caught the last of it. Whatever it was I’d wanted to say, Had to wait while winter wind swept away, Heat from between our black winter coats. Did it dissolve, what I had to say? Was something falling out or in or away? Or cooling, so the grass could stand still with the stones? Or had the birds said all there was to say? No. There must have been something that day. I remember, between the college and woods. There was something silently calling, And a clear sense of “ought,” and “can,” and “should” But the sun set beautifully While the leaves were falling. And we were trespassing and trading eyes and smiles, (yours closing and fading), Well, but, I had something to say. © 2013 EpipsychologistAuthor's Note
