Restrictions

A Poem by Hazem Elashaal

Restrictions is my new roommate,
Occupying my home that is my mind,
Collapsing on my thoughts and actions,
concealing them,
But today this ends,
Not one of us is meant to own this home,
We must share as we're supposed to,
I shove the burden away,
My Room is now clean of these alien belongings,
I now have the control,

But not power,

I gave the power to the Restrictions when I shoved him,

Power for control,

As it should have been.
