A Bit of Fun

A Bit of Fun

A Poem by Mey

Laugh all you want

Laugh at me

With me

For me.

Laugh and scream and cry.

Let it all out.

Let me see it.

I’ll take you apart like a watchmaker.

Dissecting everything,

That makes you who you are.

Then I’ll laugh.

Or scream.

Or cry.

I’ll be the portrait you’ve locked away.

I’ll show you what you are

Who you are.

I promise nothing but the truth.

Come on laugh.

I want you to.

This one definitely has an edge to it. At first I wasn't sure what to make of it or what the tone was but it was the intensity that I liked. The bit about the watchmaker was a nice image--it made me think of someone tinkering around in someone's head only instead of it being a squishy mess there would be cogs and wheels. It made me want to do all three (laugh, scream, cry) but in the end I smiled.
