They don't know me...

They don't know me...

A Poem by Vaishali Roopesh

They don't know me, do they?
They don't know I laugh when I really want to cry
That I brush terrible memories off with a sigh
I put on a smile come what may

They don't know me at all
They don't know that I'm the one who needs a shoulder to weep
That I spend every night with deprived sleep
I worry about the day when I'll face my fall

They claim they know me in and out
Well, they can't see the muffled screams
the broken promises and shattered dreams
That overburden my heart day and night

Oh, I wish someone would hear my cry, but
They don't know me, do they?
