Raining Madness

Raining Madness

A Poem by Serena
"

I haven't written anything in awhile and I decided to play with some ideas I've had. *Added more to the original

"
Rain gently falls
Choking off my plea
Pounding away at my last strands of hope
Clawing at the chains around me
Torturing myself with the lies you committed
Washing away the evidence of the pain inflicted
Addicted to the silence it creates
Craving the sharp kisses of metal
Drifting deeper into the madness
Spiraling ever deeper
Falling pray to the demons lurking around the corner
Reaching for the light
yet never quite grasping its hand
Slipping under the pressure
Breaking open the gates
Painting the world scarlet
Madness gently falls

There is deep intensity and mangled thoughts in in these words, Serena Whether they are genuinely felt or an exercise, an adventure into darkness, is your business but there is a distinct and successful intention to take your readers from their own place to yours.

' Reaching for the light .. .. yet never quite grasping its hand '
- certainly happens for sure, not merely above but in life - like it or not. When it gallops on and on, can lead one into a slough of madness. Whatever your meaning or a reader's possible conclusion, you write very well and - placing your words in a way that ought to be noticed. Thank you, Serena.

Your poem's atmosphere hardly suits your name! :)

Good, applauding... soon!
This is a great example of dark poetry in free verse, as it is powerful, and well written!

Thank you :)
Sort of feels like someone trapped, trying to break out of a cage.
