Memories

A Poem by Serena
"

Haven't posted anything in awhile... hopefully I have gotten better in my writing since I last posted

Memories surround me

Flooding my senses with you

My mind calls out your name

as my heart pulls away,

A sea of longing washes over me,

dragging me to its murky depth

Memories surround me

Beating away my fear

Longing,

Hoping,

Wishing for the past to be the present

My fingers reach out to you,

but only touch air

Memories,

that's all we are

' Memories surround me - Beating away my fear - Leaving intense despair .. .. ..
Longing, = Hoping, - Wishing for the past to be the present '

Your poem speaks to and for so many people. I suspect, tho could be wrong, that you words are true to the person you are, rather than the poet whose coat you wear.

Finely written, covering so many traits of character and the ddep, deep emotion you feel over another person.. is powerful.. Truly powerful.
