The Rain

The rain gently glides down to Earth

Hitting the roof tops

Beginning the sad tempo of the night

 

Souls of the lost walk down the path

Their howls of pain break the silence

As the living sleep

 

Lightning cuts across the sky

As the shadows move a long the ground

 

Souls of the lost walk down the path

Their tears marking where they go

Lighting the way for those that must follow

 

The endless rain fades into the background

Unheard and unseen

Yet never forgotten

 

My heart is scarred forever

 

The rain softly falls
Hitting my heart

Beginning the sad tempo of the night

 

My cries search the heavens
I scream your name, breaking the silence

And people continue sleeping through my pain
