675 Somewhere St.

675 Somewhere St.

A Poem by Meek McGee
"

I could see the cracks in his skies...

"

On 675 Somewhere St., a man

Looks out of his window. His features

Are engraved with the

memories of better days,

But I wouldn’t know that

His  eyes  were

Lonely-- Looking

Further

Towards

violet, flowering

Butterflies

His arms rested on the window’s ledge

His face seconds from the glass

Were there other

skies in his eyes?

I wouldn’t know that

Winds shifting

We shift

     Sp

       l

       it

The roses

It was a broken-down apartment

His eyes were looking further towards

An empty parking-lot

I could see the cracks in his skies

But he couldn't see that

Thanks for reading!
This is an amazing story. I love how it is written, the way the word split splits! This is a very emotionally powerful piece that leaves a very lasting impression on the reader because it has so much meaning in it. I think it tells a wonderful story about our pasts. Great job!

About
I love writing poetry, and thought that maybe this would be the place to get into it again. I really enjoy music, anime, and books. Especially anything that has a hint of wonder of fantasy to it. F.. more..
