I.

I.

A Chapter by Meek McGee
"

I'll be watching smokestacks...

"
Hi. How are you? I feel like
Splintered ladders on smokestacks.
Have you climbed one? Sitting up
There the sunset looks surreal,
Even more so than the monsters
Creeping in. Do you remember falling
Towers or how we used to trade baseball
Cards in back alleys? Neither do I. But that
Sunset was greater than that... Though
It's rather obscure at the moment. Static
Is grey, you know. Why is that? Maybe
The same reason light is see-through. I
Can see through you today, or maybe tomorrow
Would be better. But you won't be here. And
I'll be watching smokestacks. And sunsets.
But monsters cry.
Goodbye.

The scenes played out in my head and were brought beautifully to life with your graphic descriptions. So simple, yet so grasping. I love your story and am intrigued by your work :)

I like this. Full of life with a hint of bittersweetness. I like the way it jumps from one idea to another the way kids think, and it's poignant in the way kids feel tragedy. Sorry if I'm way off the mark, but that's how it strikes me.

About
I love writing poetry, and thought that maybe this would be the place to get into it again. I really enjoy music, anime, and books. Especially anything that has a hint of wonder of fantasy to it. F.. more..
