Acid Drops

Acid Drops

A Poem by Meek McGee

She was staring out the window
The sun reflected off her glasses, casting
Rainbows over my desk-- I reached
Out to touch it, wondering why they
Always disappear.

A cigarette rested between her
Fingers, dripping ashes onto the
Carpet like soldiers drop bombs
Dripping acid rain all over the
Carpet stains

She looked my way and asked,
"Where do they all go?"
But it's hard to answer when you've
Been watching acid drip all
Over your vision

The glare brought lines across my
Eyes-- She looked grey in between
Them-- It made me wonder
Where it all went. There used to
Be people here...

Things fade. I thought I saw her
Move-- That was wrong.
I thought I saw her fly somewhere
I couldn't see-- I never see
Where it ends

I thought I saw her die somewhere
Somewhere I couldn't be
I thought I saw her-- But
I never see where it
Ends

About
I love writing poetry, and thought that maybe this would be the place to get into it again. I really enjoy music, anime, and books. Especially anything that has a hint of wonder of fantasy to it. F.. more..
