Moonbeats

Moonbeats

A Poem by Dennis A. Clark

The full moon lights your window tonight,

and you taste it in your throat, feel it surging

around your heart, something all your own,

something to have faith in.

And the moon is a heart: blood-red and pulsing,

yearning through the night:

                                      . . . da-dun . . . da-dun . . . da-dun . . .

I am def a fan of the moon, as my own poetry proves. I love the title. I like where you are going with this poem, but I want to actually taste the moon rather than just feel a lump in my throat. You say "you taste it in your throat" but what exactly does that taste like?

I'd delete the ending period in the first stanza.

Thanks for sharing.
