Potential

I was inspired by driving to work listening to motivational youtube stations. I wrote this while sipping coffee in the morning.

Potential is a blank canvass to a painter

Potential is a ship on the sea without an anchor 

Success is realization of a predetermined worthy ideal 

Success is pursuit with passion, to further the will

Integrity is the courtesy to follow actions through

Integrity means you do what you say, say what you'll do 

Strength is that courage to try harder to keep up 

Strength is that die harder that fire starter no feet up 

No lazy days I been talented a long time had crazy ways  

Music and I linked up may be the way we raised 

Was in a lost and found warn out like a jacket  

Hung with hip-hop So long followed it to the casket 

And watched it rise again get live again 

Met a phantom made an anthem when I got high with friends 

Retire the pen? Nope! Not when the messiah is Dope 

And the higher I go I inspire the hope 

For musical genres to make love and create hybrids  

The music of many moments got you to open your eye lids

As usual I'll say again, each line is a bar, each comma a pause, and I write music, so this is a {rap} very hip-hip inspired verse, but very motivational as well, what some call conscious rap, whilst telling a story.
