Fading

Fading

A Poem by MetalShopGurl

Always pretending,

Never showing,

The truth that lies inside,

The one that nobody knows.

I think about it all the time,

Knowing that I can’t.

Nobody knows,

Everybody says they care.

But one day when nobody’s there,

I’ll be gone.

No matter how hard I try,

I can’t be happy.

Once the monster catches you,

There is no escape.

It is always there,

Ready and waiting.

I’ve become a pro,

Pretending is my game.

There’s no one like me,

I am alone in this game called life.

I once knew,

What happiness was.

But that memory is gone,

Faded away.

So I’ll just sit here,

Deep in my hole,

Thinking, waiting,

Fading.
