Wolves

Wolves

A Poem by D Ruppert

Incarcerated,
Within your own mind
Emotionally,
Incapacitated
Deemed,
Mentally insane
But a broken soul,
Drifting lifelessly
In darkened,
Shades of yesterday

Hiding behind,
Layers of facade
True colors,
Undetectible
Derailing,
Your dreams
The scars,
Of betrayal
Poisoning,
Your heart

Like angels,
Ascending from
The mouth,
Of madness
Wolves will emerge,
Devouring the sheep
Become the flames,
Wrapped around,
Your flesh
The nightmare,
You will come to fear

Leaving those,
Weaker than you
To suffocate,
On your hypocrisy
Imprisoning,
Their fragile minds
With your desire,
To spread chaos and fear
Robbing them,
Of their humanity

Does it serve,
As a reminder?
When you look,
In the mirror each day
Of the monster,
That you've become?
The hatred,
Raging in your heart?

Like angels,
Ascending from
The mouth,
Of madness
Wolves will emerge,
Devouring the sheep
Become the flames,
Wrapped around,
Your flesh
The nightmare,
You will come to fear

We are the chaos,
Surrounding you
The pain,
Tormenting your heart
The voice,
Inside your head
The arrow,
Embedded in your soul

In due time,
The hammer will fall
Obliterate,
Pulverize your dreams
Justice,
Will be served
Judgement,
Handed down
Sentence,
A life of misery
From which,
There is no escape
