Birth Of Insanity

Birth Of Insanity

A Poem by D Ruppert

With the ebb and flow of my emotions,

The tides of war swaying like a pendulum

Winds of chaos wreaking havoc,

Leaving my world capsized life buried in ruins

Collapsing under pressure,

My bleeding heart drowning in sorrow

With the fingerprints of doubt,

Etched in my mind, molesting my soul

Bound by my sin, blinded by my ignorance,

Unaware of the insufferable pain it was causing

Blatantly allowing whispers of hatred,

Creep silently into my mind, giving birth to insanity

Thrust into a mental state of unrest,

Haunted by the voices inside my head

Scathing words psychotic delusions,

An empty soul left to suffocate in a catacomb of lies

Surrounded by walls of darkness,

I was invisible to the world, faceless entity

Known as a miserable failure,

Obnoxious drunken fool, vicious and obscene

Bound by my sin, blinded by my ignorance,

Unaware of the insufferable pain it was causing

Blatantly allowing whispers of hatred,

Creep silently into my mind, giving birth to insanity

Just a dead man walking,

Numbers in someone's bank account

Statistic on a page,

Irrelevant soul, agonizing burden

Reckless and insane,

I was imploding, spiraling out of control

Living in the shadows of my pain

D Ruppert,

I love the line "Just a dead man walking, numbers in someone's bank account." That is such a power line that stands out, as well as "thrusts into a mental state of unrest, haunted by the voices inside my head." You can see a fantastic message you painted on a clear canvas. I enjoyed your passage very much. Keep up the good work.

Best regards,
Tristesse
