Iron WillA Poem by D RuppertOur lives basking in misfortune, People questioning our resolve With hard times staring us down, There's a long empty road ahead Emotional strain we’ve endured, Dreams draped over a pool of misery Entombed inside a world, Where the taste of bad luck is all we know With the swells of anger rising, Frowns of hatred barreling into our lives Like blood sucking leeches, They’re trying to bleed our last bit of hope dry Despite the adversity we might face, No way in hell is our iron will going to be broken We'll repel any obstacles in our path, We won't allow anything to stand in our way We'll fight like hell, Never wave a flag of defeat We'll rise above it all, Just you wait and see Spineless cowards in the shadows, They dare to mock us, our way of life Hear their uncontrollable laughter, While our heart's are drenched in fear In our hands dripping with sorrow, Molested by the hands of doubt Wretched scoundrels, Ruthless tyrants terrorizing our minds Hoping, praying, We'll break, give in to their demands Become enslaved, Soulless creatures, puppets on a string © 2015 D Ruppert |
