More Than What They'll Understand.

More Than What They'll Understand.

A Poem by MetBySunlight

Hey Baby, can you give me a chance

To focus for just one day?

You're running circles in my head

And I can't help but dream of you.

A smile so bright that it brought light to my dark world,

Eyes so loving; I can't seem to look away

When you hold me in your arms, I wish you'd never let go

As I am not letting go of you, no matter how many glares we may attract,

I'll stay up all night just to see you smile when you are sad

And I will fall asleep in your arms just to wake and see your face

Every morning for the rest of my life...

You are the one I want, the one who will be called Daddy

By our kids who'll smile just like you do

I can't wait to move in with you, to see your face everyday,

When we hold hands, they'll see our love is true

I wouldn't mind to hear the soft melodies of your voice

In my ear saying good morning and good night

Beneath bed sheets and blankets we'll cuddle

Just to wake in each others arms the next morning.

I love you, more than what they'll understand

Thinking it's impossible, we're chucking those three words around

Yeah, I love you more than what they could ever understand

If only they could see you through my eyes.

'You are the one I want, the one who will be called Daddy' ... now that is the line for me as I am called Daddy by three and I love it. And, incidentally, it is fathers' day tmr in the UK. Fingers crossed they will not forget.

The poem had a good story to tell and I like the flow and the thoughts of your words. I like the positive desire and emotion of this poem. No weakness in the excellent poem.
