I Found Fear In Your Eyes.A Poem by MetBySunlightI don't care that it's long, read it anyway. Please (:She was just eight years old When the cops came and took him away She was too young to understand Why he disappeared that day But he abused another woman Just to feel like a man And that woman was young, Not too different from his daughter And that woman cried for the rest of her life.
Keep it together now, It's not your fault Keep it together now, It doesn't have to be this way There will be a man who treats you right Don't give up without a fight.
A few years down the line, Body changing, what's happening? Taught about abuse, taught about sex Realising what happened back then Was never OK After all these years, Keeping it in the dark, Wishing the memory will fade.
Keep it together now, It's not your fault Keep it together now, It doesn't have to be this way There will be a man who treats you right Don't give up without a fight.
Was he ever paid To do the things he did? At the end of the day Was it worth it? Kept inside for life Thrived to be a teacher Does he regret his actions, Or does he regret getting caught?
Keep it together now, It's not your fault Keep it together now, It doesn't have to be this way There will be a man who treats you right Don't give up without a fight.
I grew older And things got better, But boys remained the same Abusing girls for fun Why do they not realise What they do is painful? Maybe we're too young To comprehend the ways of the wrong.
Keep it together now, It's not your fault Keep it together now, It doesn't have to be this way There will be a man who treats you right Don't give up without a fight.
I kept on falling I never said go away, I was scared and ashamed Now wondering what could have been If only I'd called for help, Maybe everything would have stopped.
Keep it together now, It's not your fault Keep it together now, It doesn't have to be this way There will be a man who treats you right Don't give up without a fight.
Everyone grows older And memories do fade Tell your story, Defeating lost glory Stand tall and unashamed.
