Chapter Six

Chapter Six

A Chapter by Neeeks!

None of the fanfics that Samantha was currently reading had been updated, and she frowned. She hated when authors went more than a day without adding another chapter, especially when the story was getting good. What bothered her most was when authors stopped working on their stories all together. She hated when she got to the last published chapter only to find that the author had lost interest in it, that there weren't going to be anymore updates. Then again, she couldn't really complain about that. Not when she had done it a few times herself.

Since none of her friends were online, half of her regular sites weren't working, and she couldn't find another fanfic that she felt like staying up all night and reading, Samantha decided that she was done using her laptop. She wasn't really in the mood to work on one of her stories, though it had been a few weeks since she had, and her headache wasn't going to go away anytime soon. Letting out a sigh of pure boredom, she put her laptop into hibernation mode, closing it once the lights had turned off. She got off the bed, setting the laptop back on the desk before going to sit in the chair again. Bill was still passed out on the bed, her movements going unnoticed. Samantha untied her converses, sliding them off before setting them down next to Bill's boots.

Samantha stretched, her back popping a few times before she let her arms drop to her side. She sat back down in the chair, her elbow resting on one of the arms, her head in her palm. Scooting down slightly, she put her feet on the nightstand that was between her and the bed, her eyes slowly going over Bill. He would be out for the night, she was sure of it. As tired as she was, she wanted to stay up until Bill woke up, afraid of what could happen if he were to wake while she was still asleep. He could freak out, wondering where he was, or there was the chance that he wouldn't care. She wondered if anyone noticed that he was missing. Was Tom worrying about Bill? She certainly hoped that someone knew Bill was missing, that someone out there cared when they discovered they couldn't find Bill anywhere. She just hoped that Bill wouldn't be mad at her in the morning for bringing him back to her hotel room, that she wouldn't get in trouble.

She held up her phone, pressing a button to light up the screen so that she could see what time it was. It was only quarter past one in the morning. Samantha was normally up all hours of the night, not going to bed until six or seven in the morning, but she was exhausted. A yawn escaped her as she rubbed her eyes with her free hand. She was hungry, but she didn't feel like getting up to find herself something to eat. Samantha didn't know what time it was when she finally fell asleep, giving in to the temptation of sweet dreams and relaxation. All she knew was that Bill was safe in her hotel room, sleeping soundly.

Samantha woke up when she heard something move, someone muttering something under their breath. She couldn't understand them, though, their voice muffled by something making them sound far away. She tried to go back to sleep, to return to the slowly fading dream she had been having before it slipped away completely, but she couldn't. After a few minutes slowly dragged by, she forced her eyes to open, blinking away the haze and rubbing the sleep out of the corners of her eyes. Her neck hurt from the way she had fallen asleep on the chair, her wrist straining from the weight, but she simply turned her wrist in a slow circle, tilting her neck the other way to stretch the muscles.

As she let out a heavy sigh, she looked over at the bed, smiling slightly when she saw that Bill was still there. He hadn't woken up and freaked out about being in a strange hotel room, about being there with a strange girl who he had never met before. Samantha wondered if he would remember anything that had happened at the bar, if he would be in a lighter mood. He was still sleeping soundly in her bed making her wonder if she had really heard voices when she had woken up or if the voices had been from her dream. Bill had shifted in his sleep slightly, moving a little closer to the edge of the bed, but he was still sleeping, unaware of the waking world around him. Samantha loved being able to see Bill like this, sleeping soundly, a peaceful look on his face.

Light was shining through the bedroom window, and Samantha could hear birds chirping, the cars that were driving by. Her phone had fallen to the floor while she slept, so she leaned down and picked it up, checking the time. It was a little past eight in the morning, far too early for Samantha to be getting up, despite going to bed early. She loved being able to sleep until noon, sometimes spending the entire day in bed. When Samantha sat back up, she set her phone on the nightstand and shifted slightly, trying to get comfortable. Her butt was numb from being on it all night, but she didn't feel like getting up. The chair was warm, though she noticed that the room was a little colder than she liked.

It wasn't even a minute later that Samantha felt the need to pee, a frown appearing on her face. She just wanted to go back to sleep, to avoid the world for a few more hours. As the need to relieve herself grew, she knew she wasn't going back to sleep just yet. Samantha groaned in annoyance as she got out of the chair, walking out into the bathroom that was connected to her room. She shut the door behind her, not bothering with the light since there was enough coming through the small window in the bathroom. She went about her business before heading back into the bedroom. Before leaving the bathroom, Samantha looked in the mirror above the sink and ran her fingers through her hair. She could see the bags under her eyes and sighed as she rubbed her face; she looked like crap, though others usually said otherwise. Maybe it was just that she wasn't a morning person, so she was convinced that she didn't look good in the morning.

When Samantha got back to the bedroom, she sat down in the chair, putting her feet back on the nightstand. It wasn't warm anymore, all signs of her spending the night in it gone. Samantha pouted slightly but focused on getting comfortable again. Just as she was about to go back to sleep, she heard the mumbles again. This time, she knew she wasn't dreaming or imagining them as they continued for a short moment. She opened her eyes, looking over at Bill. He was shifting in his sleep, and as she listened to the words escaping his lips, she realized he was complaining about the birds, about how bright the room was. Was he really awake? Samantha's heart skipped a beat at the thought, and she couldn't help but smile a little.

She sat up in her seat, leaning forward slightly as she wrapped her arms around her knees. Bill rolled onto his side, pulling the pillow over his head with a groan. It took a lot effort for Samantha to stop herself from laughing. Bill was facing her, his head hidden under the pillow, and his hand dropped to hang next to the bed. Samantha sat in silence, wondering if he had fallen back asleep. When he didn't move for a couple minutes, she was sure that he had and sat back in her seat. She was still smiling, finding what she had just witnessed to be rather cute. It wasn't everyday one got to see what went on inside Bill's bedroom in the early morning.

Bill shifted again, rolling over so that he was laying on his stomach. If he rolled over again, he would end up on the floor and Samantha knew she would lose it. There was no way she would be able to stop herself from laughing if that happened, and she doubted Bill would be happy about waking up on her floor. Samantha grabbed her phone, checking the time again. It was almost eight-thirty in the morning, and Samantha sighed. Her body was already waking up, and she knew it would be awhile before she would be able to fall asleep again. She shifted slightly as Bill grumbled something incoherent into the mattress. Did he even realize that he wasn't in his bed? That he was in a strangers hotel room? Samantha doubted it.

She was sure that Bill wouldn't remember meeting her at the bar, that he wouldn't remember the long walk to her hotel room. Samantha's back hurt as she thought about the walk the night before. Bill wasn't as heavy as she had thought he would be, but she wasn't a very fit person to begin with and he was taller than her, making it a bit difficult to keep him balanced while they were walking. Samantha hoped she wouldn't have to do that again anytime soon. Smiling slightly, Samantha cleared her throat. He was up, whether he wanted to be or not, and she wasn't going to be able to fall asleep anytime soon. She opened her mouth to say something, but the words were caught in her throat. There were times when Samantha hated when she would go to say something early in the morning but her voice wasn't awake yet. She cleared her throat again.

"Morning, Bill..." she said, just loud enough for him to hear her, but hopefully not too loud to worsen the headache Bill was sure to have.
