Chapter Thirteen

Chapter Thirteen

A Chapter by Neeeks!

Ingrit watched as the entrance drew closer and closer, the single line breaking into four as staff members patted people down and reminded everyone of the rules; no videotaping, no outside foods or beverages allowed, and once leaving the building no one was allowed to come back in. The last rule was a stupid one, in Ingrit's opinion. She remembered the few occasions where she had left her camera in the car and ended up meeting the bands. Luckily for her, the staff was always nice enough to let her grab her camera and come back in so that she could get some pictures. She didn't know why the staff stressed that rule if they only followed it half the time themselves.

The line was beginning to move faster now as more staff members came out to help quicken the pace. It was already twenty of seven, so everyone was rushing to get in. The opening band, the Muse, started at seven and was playing until about quarter of eight. Green Day was to come on at eight and go until somewhere between nine and nine-thirty. Then it would be time for Tokio Hotel, the main attraction.

Ingrit smiled as the line moved. Amanda stayed next to her, and it wasn't much longer before they were standing in front of the staff. One of the staff members grabbed Ingrit's purse, looking through it as another patted her down before doing the same to Amanda. Ingrit was handed her purse while reminded of the rules.

"No outside food or drinks, no recording the shows, and no reentry tonight," the guy said. "Enjoy your show, ladies."

Ingrit and Amanda nodded before they went through the clear doors of the building. A shiver ran down their spines as the temperature around them changed. The lobby was cold, despite the bodies packed from wall to wall, and everything echoed. Amanda grabbed onto Ingrit's arm as they made their way through the crowd. People were in line picking up tickets they had won in contests while others were standing around waiting for other friends to get in.

The concert was being held on the lower level, so Ingrit led Amanda to the stairs. She had taken the two tickets out of her purse, handing them to another staff member that was waiting at the top of the staircase. The woman simply nodded and handed the tickets back to Ingrit. Amanda watched as Ingrit put the tickets back in her purse before leading the way down the stairs.

The walls were shaking as music played from the speakers. When Ingrit and Amanda looked up at the stage, they saw that the crew for the Muse were still setting up. There was a fairly decent sized group standing in front of the stage, but it wasn't as crowded as they had thought it was going to be. Ingrit looked around, locating the booths with merchandise.

"Hey, let's get our merchandise now," Ingrit said. "I don't mind if we aren't right up front when the Muse play, and it'll be easy to get to the front while everyone else is busy buying their things while waiting for Green Day to set up."

Amanda simply shrugged and nodded, ready to follow her friend to wherever Ingrit felt like going. They walked over to one of the booths, looking at the shirts and bandannas over the shoulders of other people. They were still waiting in line when they heard people in front of the stage start screaming; the Muse were coming out. Amanda leaned back and watched as people tried to push their way to the front, practically crushing everyone that was between them and the stage.

"That's going to be us later." Ingrit commented as she walked over to the booth that everyone else had abandoned.

"The ones pushing or getting crushed?" Amanda questioned.

"Getting crushed."

"Oh great," Amanda muttered. "Sounds like fun."

"It's not as bad as it sounds," Ingrit laughed. "Trust me. That's where I try to be at every concert."

Ingrit looked at the merchandise for a moment, comparing the prices of everything. She wanted a shirt from each, any albums that were being sold, and a key chain from each band. The bandannas didn't seem too bad, and she let out a sigh as she tried to decide which shirts she wanted to buy.

"Having trouble?" Amanda asked, still trying to figure out what she wanted.

"Are you?" Ingrit countered.

"...maybe."

I don't think I'd want to get crushed by people, but being in the front sounds like fun! I really feel like I'm in the book with you and Amanda! :D
