Chapter Eleven

A Chapter by Neeeks!

The entrance to the parking lot was only a few car lengths away, just barely out of reach. Ingrit was staring at it, her eyes scanning the lot to locate any and every possible place she could park her sisters Crown Vic. It was a fairly wide car, but she loved it nonetheless and couldn't wait for Krystel to give it to her once she graduated. Amanda was tapping a finger on the passenger door, her left foot twitching. She couldn't wait to get out of the car.

Ingrit was getting impatient as she eyed a couple welcoming spots in the parking lot. She knew they would be gone soon as more cars filed into the lot. Sadly, her and Amanda were stuck in traffic; someone had gotten a flat and neither of the people in the car knew how to fix it. Both girls let out a heavy sigh.

"Come on," Ingrit whined, bouncing in her seat. "I wanna park the damn car..."

"We're so close." Amanda whispered.

"I know. What the hell," Ingrit muttered. "How do you not know how to fix a flat tire?"

Amanda shrugged. Then again, she didn't know how to change one either, but she wasn't about to say that out-loud.

Cars were piled up behind the girls, horns honking here and there while others leaned out their car windows, shouting for people to move. The girls could tell that people were getting annoyed as profanity was heard above the car engines and noise of the busy town. Ingrit let out another sigh and rested her forehead against the steering-wheel. She couldn't believe how close they were, yet they were still so far away; once the girls could get the car parked, they'd still have to wait in a line that seemed to never end!

Amanda leaned back in her seat, putting a foot on the dashboard until she was comfortable. She turned her head, looking down at the clock before looking at Ingrit. It was almost six; they had been sitting in traffic for almost twenty minutes.

"What time do the doors open?" she asked.

"Six-thirty." Ingrit muttered, not lifting her head from its resting place.

Amanda let out a sigh and looked up at the roof of the car for a moment before looking at the cars in front of them. A couple of people had walked over to the two with the flat tire and were beginning to help, but it was still taking forever.

"What the hell! Why are people so stupid," she complained. "And on today of all days!"

Ingrit shrugged, lifting her head to rest her chin on her arms. She watched as two guys changed the tires, not even daring to look at the clock or ask what time it was; she'd get even more frustrated if she knew.

"They're done," Amanda exclaimed, sitting up in her seat.

"Finally."

"No s**t."

Ingrit took the car out of park, moving slowly behind the cars in front of her. None of them made the right into the parking lot, something Ingrit did as soon as she was close enough to the entrance. There was a ten dollar charge to park in the lot, like always. Ingrit dug around in her purse for her money, pulling a ten from the stack she had managed to hide from her mom.

"Are you parking in this lot or would you like to park in the lot over there," a guy in a yellow vest asked. "There are fewer spots in the other one because it's made for larger cars. I honestly don't think your car will be able to get in this lot easily, let alone get out when everyone else is driving with their stupidity later tonight."

"Is there a difference in cost?" Ingrit asked.

When her and her mom usually came, they always either got there late so no one was out to take the money, or the other lot was full. It never surprised her, though; it was right next to the building.

"Only five dollars more." he answered, shrugging like it wasn't a big deal.

Ingrit looked over at Amanda who simply shrugged; she didn't care where they parked so long as they were able to get inside.

"Um, we'll park in the other section." Ingrit answered, grabbing the difference from her purse.

The man nodded, took the money and handed her an orange piece of paper to put on the inside of the windshield, a sign that she had paid. Ingrit smiled, waved to the man and drove through the parking lot until she found the closest spot to the building that she could. Her hands were shaking violently as she parked the car, turning off the engine and unbuckling herself. Amanda unbuckled herself as well before exchanging glances with Ingrit.

They were finally there. All they had to do now was wait for the doors to open.
