Chapter Nine

"Now I've got some enemies, and they're all friends suddenly. BFF's eternally," Amanda sang, dancing in the passenger seat of the car. "But I'm not bitter; I believe that the road that people lead helps you find the one you need."

 

She looked over at Ingrit who was smiling.

 

"You're much better," they sang together. "Yeah!"

 

Ingrit laughed as Amanda closed her eyes, still singing. Amanda pretended to play a guitar, leaning back in her seat and putting her feet up on the dashboard as the song continued. Glancing over at her friend, Ingrit turned the volume of the music down a little so that Amanda would be able to hear her.

 

"I wanna fight with you," Amanda whispered, pointing at Ingrit with a grin on her face that seemed to stretch from one ear to the other.

 

Ingrit simply shook her head.

 

"Having fun?" she asked.

 

"As always," Amanda answered, glancing out the car window. "How long 'til we get there, huh? How much longer?"

 

She started bouncing in her seat like a little kid, her eyes shining beneath her bangs which she brushed to the side. Ingrit glanced down at the clock on the radio, her smile widening.

"We're about half an hour away," she answered. "So long as traffic stays as good as it has been for the last hour."

"Yes!" Amanda shouted. "I'm so excited, I can't stop shaking. And these guys aren't even one of my favorite bands, they're yours!"

Ingrit laughed and nodded, acknowledging the truth in Amanda's words.

"You're more interested in that Joey boy of yours," she replied.

"You bet I am!" Amanda said proudly. "I'm gonna be the next Jonas girl, just you wait and see."

"Yeah, well, thanks for coming with me to this concert." Ingrit replied.

"No problem-o," Amanda smiled.

Ingrit didn't say anything as Amanda reached over to the radio and turned the music up slightly. She didn't turn it up as loud as it had been, but the change was definitely noticeable. Tapping her fingers on the steering wheel to the drums, Ingrit's lips moved as she silently sang along. Amanda, meanwhile, was singing as loud as she could, her heart content.

Haha, in this chapter Amanda reminded me of one of my real life best friends who is obsessed with Joe Jonas. It's nice to bring real life characters in to this to make it more realistic. So far, no bad critique. Keep on writing.
