Chapter Eight

Chapter Eight

A Chapter by Neeeks!

Amanda leaned back in her seat, crossing her arms over her chest as she let out a loud sigh. Ingrit glanced at her, still smiling, before she started the car. Taking her hand off the keys, she reached over and poked Amanda's side, causing her to twitch as she pulled away. She poked Amanda again, but her friend didn't say anything.

"Come on, Manderz," she said, looking at her. "You know I wasn't about to kiss your hand with dog slobber all over it."

Amanda looked at Ingrit before looking away again, still not saying anything. Ingrit poked her side again before playfully nudging her. As hard as she tried not to, the corners of Amanda's mouth began to rise, putting an end to all attempts to make Ingrit believe she was really mad.

"Knew you weren't really mad at me." Ingrit laughed.

Amanda laughed and shook her head before bouncing in her seat.

"Come on, let's go already," she replied, pushing Ingrit back. "We won't be able to get to the front if we don't hurry up and go."

"Alright, alright," Ingrit sighed, holding a hand up. "Hold your horses, would you?"

"How about no?" Amanda questioned.

"Too bad. You have to."

"Damn... Stinky horses."

Amanda scrunched up her nose for a moment before laughing. Ingrit laughed and put the car in reverse, shifting in her seat slightly to make sure that nothing was coming and backed out of the driveway. Shifting gears and straightening herself until she was comfortable again, Ingrit smiled and started driving. Amanda was smiling as she looked out her window.

"On the road again, can't wait to get on the road again," she sang. "Something, something, something... And another something..."

She looked down at her lap for a moment before looking up and smiling.

"I never could remember that song," she laughed.

Ingrit smiled as she grabbed her MP3 from her purse that rested between her and Amanda. Still smiling, she handed the MP3 off to Amanda who took it and plugged it into Krystel's car.

"Too bad. You have to."
"Damn... Stinky horses."

"On the road again, can't wait to get on the road again," she sang. "Something, something, something... And another something..."

Both funny quotes from the story. I love the way you write, from a teenage style with a playful and classic air to it that you can't resist at any age. Keep it up.
