Chapter SixA Chapter by Neeeks!
Amanda hopped over to Ingrit's side when she walked out of Branden's room, holding onto Ingrit's arm. Branden didn't say anything as he grabbed a red leash from the dining room table. Stopping by the door, he turned and started patting his hands on his legs, smiling at the dog.
"Come here, Mindy," he said in a high pitched, baby-like voice. "Come here." Mindy looked up from her spot on the computer chair, staring at Branden from the other side of the room. Her ears were perked, her head tilting to the left slightly as her tail twitched. When Branden called her again, her mouth opened in a wide smile and she launched herself off the chair, running toward him while letting out a quick, excited bark. Claws scratched loudly against the tiled floor as Mindy ran to Branden, jumping up on her hind legs as she neared him. "Just make sure you stay out there with her," Ingrit said as Branden latched the leash to Mindy's collar. "I don't want her barking to annoy Carl, okay?" "Okay," Branden snapped, clearly annoyed by his sisters orders. Ingrit rolled her eyes when her brother stepped outside, Mindy running in front of him. Amanda laughed as Mindy almost dragged him down the steps, making him mutter something in annoyance and frustration. "Stupid dog!" he yelled, bringing her to the backyard. Ingrit stood there watching him for a moment before she disappeared into her sisters room. She looked at the clothes that littered Krystel's floor and bed before stepping over the piles to get to the black computer desk on the other side of the room. The keys to Krystel's car weren't resting in their usual spot on the corner of the desk and Ingrit let out a sigh. Either one of the cats had knocked the keys onto the floor or the keys were still in one of the pockets of the many pants laying here and there. Amanda peered into the room as she watched Ingrit toss the clothing into a pile on one side of the room. She opened her mouth to say something, pointing a finger at Ingrit in confusion, but quickly ducked when she almost got hit in the face by a shirt. "Could you watch where you throw things?" she asked. "And what are you doing?" "Looking for Krystel's car keys," Ingrit answered. "They're in a pocket of one of these pants." Amanda looked around. "How do you know she didn't just put them somewhere else?" she asked. "This is my sister we're talking about," Ingrit answered, glancing up at Amanda before going back to looking through pockets. "If something isn't on the desk where it should be, it never made it out of her pocket." Amanda laughed and watched as Ingrit continued to dig through Krystel's things. "So much for making our trip subtle," she commented. "I think Krystel will notice that her room was searched for something." "I could honestly care less at the moment," Ingrit muttered, growing rather impatient. "How many pants does this damn girl have?" "Do you need some he-" "Got 'em!" "Finally!" Amanda exclaimed, turning around as she raised her hands into the air. "Hallelujah! We are saved at last! Hallelujah, hallelujah! We are saved at last!" Ingrit stared at her friend, raising an eyebrow. "Can we just go now?" she questioned. "Sure!" Amanda answered, smiling at her friend. © 2010 Neeeks!Featured Review
