We Are Refugees

We Are Refugees

A Poem by Meshalini
"

Pray for Syria...

"
Syria, March 15, 2011, unforgettable day
That we still remember until today.
Out of nowhere, came a flashlight,
Suddenly morning turns to night.
Black smoke blinded our eyes,
But seconds later we came to realize.
Houses and buildings were destroyed in millions of fragments,
Our hopes has also split in a moment.
Fear surrounds us,
When we start losing our loved ones.
Our conscience began questioning our nationality,
When we forced to leave our beloved country.

This is an so good. I so wish I could take in all the refugees and help. My heart aches for them and I really do not like my own country and what we are doing..I hate that we elected trump who wants to divide us even more..and I wish more people would be welcoming. Great write!

Thank you very much...
Your words are showing us vividly how it might feel to be in their situation . . . which makes me even more sad that some people in the USA think refugees pose a danger to our society . . . you've shown us how intensely these people DO NOT WANT to be refugees & would prefer to have their old lives back! So much more to be said about this tragedy, but you've done a great job starting the discussion here! (((HUGS)))

Thank you so much for your kind words..
A very sad day. One of the ancient countries being destroyed. I can't understand how the leaders believe. Destroying great cities and leaving your people homeless. Is some kind of victory? Your words powerful and needs to be read by more people. Syria is in my prayers. No-one want to leave their homeland unless they must to stay alive. Thank you Meshalini for sharing the amazing words and thoughts.
