An introductionA Poem by C LeePoem just posted for Amy's writing prompt on Facebook. Long time since I spit out words of such emotion. May seem simple, but that's me.A beginning Times 38 Pebbles beneath my feet Western shores seep into my tedious sunshine tipped toes Blades of carpeted evergreen Cradle my fiery pale exterior I drink in the luscious candor of the day Recounting Callous moments Distrusted faith In myself In judgments Handed down in the whistle of my amber grained youth The shallow bordered decades spent swallowing my pride For others Destined to keep me in a corrugated khaki box With a label Or two Scratched out in black Re-written at their convenience Pushed, kicked, packed and shipped away Returned 14, 10, 7, 4, does of independence In capsules of suggested solutions Revolutions Spinning like a carousel Sunsets, daylights, twilights, choices Words erased Yet remembered Never to address Packed away in a Hello Kitty box Waves crash High tide falling painfully
on jagged shores Once demolished Now restored Amnesty in the low tides Gently shifting Settled, calm, peaceful Scenic sense of security
