Old Henry's Dream

This is for Wannabe Writers group contest #4. Old man Henry had a dream of eating big mac in Neverland.

Old man Henry had a dream,

eating a Big Mac in Neverland.

Many laughed and teased,

whenever he shared this dream.

Old man Henry never gave up,

on this dream of his.

See as a young lad, he 

went to Neverland, with Peter Pan.

Yet he grew tired of being young,

and asked to be sent back home.

Peter Pan was not pleased and 

finally let him go.

Before he left, Peter said,

¨If you ever wanna come back up here,

dream about it with all your heart, 

and you might come back, just yet.¨

Old man Henry kept on dreaming

of eating a Big Mac in Neverland.

And finally the day came, 

in which Old man Henry was

never seen again!

Many said, he drowned in misery, 

while others wondered about,

thinking of Old man Henry.

That poor fool!

Yet, he never died did he,

For his dream did come true.

And right now there he sits,

on top of a tree, eating 

his Big Mac in Neverland!

Growing old is risky business I keep the mentality and outlook of a fourteen year old. it serves me well. What a simple beautiful thing to have back a feeling of wonder that we experienced as a child. You have a happy theme here even though it is the end of a life. Good Job

I lost my mother this year, and my dad is doing poorly and he keeps on talking about how he wants to die to join my mom, and or if there was an alternative to death he would take it as well, as long as my mom could be in the picture. So based this poem on that alone. Thank you once again
