PERRIER-JOUET

PERRIER-JOUET

A Poem by Mockingbird

with painted faces
we bare our cheeks
and swing our hips
as the men dispense dollars
and suck down their beer
feeling good about themselves
 sharing a bond
of complicity

(tip the dj extra so
when you're giving
a lap dance
he'll play 6 songs
in a row.)

in the champagne room
two flutes from
a bottle of perrier-jouet
and we stroke their egos
til they feel like a million bucks...

it's two a.m.
they walk to their cars
with a smile on their faces
glitter on their shirts
and a hole in their wallet.

she's working
this tuesday.

Strings of words so sharp they could cut glass. As stark and clear as the old Bogart black and white flics. They were classics. Jake Lamotta could have learned about pulling no punches if he read this. Bravo!

What a brilliant, dark glimpse into the night... into lives that fight fierce to survive, doing all they must... and the divide between the have's and have not's... Powerful write.

I liked it. It reminded me of the ambiance in Charles Bukowski's poetry. It has this dirty glam.

By day we are we; by night we are all beautiful artists on WC. So let the sentiments of our heart well up. Let the music sing. Let us make beautiful art together. Let us dance to our musing. And let there be love.

Leaves me speechless because it's breathtaking to get a view of this from the pole side of the stage. You just never know until you've been there :) Personnaly I find it fun to be the one doing the lap dances, but that's got to be a male ego thing (sorry bout that). Just like the peom before, this is a difficult subject put into the simplest of terms.... this is really good writing!

Nice piece of writing. Honest and uncontrived.
I love slices of life; nothing compares to the taste of real experiences.
