a warmer fleece

a warmer fleece

A Poem by Mockingbird

swept along
with the rest, i sigh
resigned to be herded.

one among them
i go unnoticed yet sought
by those who seek the solace
of a warmer fleece.

the wool can't hide their hungry eyes

as the First takes my heart
i watch the wolves above
circling their prey

A poem of many interpretations. Bullies, co-workers, actual animals observed, a mugging, government? You've opened up the ideas and made us wonder, which is always intriguing. I like it, as the others also do. Nice writing.

Well done. Very effective for not having alot of words to work with with. The structure is very tight, but the imagery and emotion go far. Thank you.

Thrilling write... build op, with mystic aspects. Full moon passes, as the tides... but it turns in the next 3 weeks already....

Nice touch--"the wolves circling above..." they sound like vultures...

what makes us wolves?
what makes us sheep?
who knows?
i wish the lambs had
fluffy wings to fly with

Nice short and sweet poem about a sheep that would have its prized wool sheared by people who sought its warm fleece. Unusual topic but you have made interesting at the same time. Easy reading and well written in a clever way. Well done again.

very nice really in both the way it is written and the way it is designed, while reading you feel you need to have deep breath for each word you read. nicely written
