Old Hotels And Temporary Lives

Old Hotels And Temporary Lives

A Poem by Isabel

I'm in desperate need to make peace with my demons

So I can walk with the angels.

Sunlight beaming through those satin curtains.

In these moments, I feel tired and consumed

By all the sadness I've ever bottled up.

As it ages, it becomes sweet like wine.

I would indulge in it from time to time.

Pink walled hotels made it feel so damn divine.

A soothing dark lush that was all mine.

I appreciated the scars of the moonlit sky.

I knew it in December and I knew it in July

That everything is captured in stills of black and white.

The reflection of city lights,

Mirrored in their diamond eyes.

Tunnel visions and apparitions hang on either side.

Walking on gold stained paths

And I see everything around us is temporary.

Very interesting write. Very nice and it had me thinking a great deal. I feel this is your view of dealing with your demons. We all have to find a way and everyone is different. Stay focused and you will handle it all. Good imagery too. Thanks,
