Mid May Blues

Mid May Blues

A Poem by Isabel

Don't know what it was that drew me to you.

Maybe it was because I thought you were so cool.

You had me daydreaming about lounging by swimming pools

And have you kissing my neck like a lovely fool.

It wasn't til May that you felt it fade.

You became accustomed to a similar pain.

Letting all the pieces drain into a sky full of vodka and rain.

Look beyond the purple houses

And stay, stay with me babe. Stay.

We don't need to be anywhere or anything.

Hold me tight while I sing.

Baby boy we're up to speed.

Your smile is gonna be the sun and everything.
