Broken Hollywood

Broken Hollywood

A Poem by Isabel

Bring the heartless to the golden horizon.
Ring for the bell and undo the bindings.
Our cities buried under lights.
Kindred spirits putting up fair fights.
Even the stars fog up the night.
Never letting the ghosts make a still life.

Hollywood holds onto the memories left by the sun.
Over our heads, but sometimes we like to have fun.
Love for yourself or so they tell you.
Live for yourself, but we know that's never true.
Yearning for a chance to break free.
Wouldn't want it to get the best of me.
Owning the midnight madness and its beauty.
Only to have it burn a hole right through me.
Daring to be wild, but I'm still roaming lonely.
