Perplexity

Perplexity

A Poem by Mercer
"

This poem is from a rough night i had a while ago.

"

Simplicity

Can't you see

Is the greatest thing

Complexity

Can't you see

Is the cruelest thing

Filled with perplexity

Can't you see

I’m a guardian angel

Who lost his wings

I try to aid

Using many things

I help them drop the blade

But still I cling

To my lifeline

Nothing but a frayed string

Sometimes life's deepest sorrows come from the fact that we can't always save everyone. Sometimes the best you can do is just be there for someone. Your character really shows through in this poem. I think it's a fascinating topic: that angels struggle, too. Keep up the good work. Writing from the heart is always the best.
