Yesterday.

Yesterday.

A Poem by Mercedes Diamond

Under a bridge as the night got colder

I pulled you in deeper, looking over your shoulder

With a glow that’s iridescent, you could only hear our sighs

The moon that shined was our only form of light

As I felt your skin, coming into mine

I cringed and whispered against a breath stained with wine.

I’m biting your shoulder, and you’re licking my skin

I rub up against you; I’m wearing you thin

I want you to swim, I want you to float

For now I’m yours; my body I’ll devote

With our time together ending, I finish you off

I left you there breathing, your heart couldn’t stop

I lay in your clothes, still smelling of you

Soaking in remembrances of how our love finally brewed

With passion and heat, we couldn’t stay away

But I’ll forever admire tonight. Perfect bodies dancing a sway
