Their settled dust, a gentle sand

Their settled dust, a gentle sand

A Poem by Mercedes Diamond

I see black and blue ivy covering her skin.

While  Shards of wet grass start to slowly sink within

She begins to wonder why she ever loved this place

But soon you'll seek to realize undying love and endless faith

Branches will stream together, forming light beyond belief

As strands of light begin to fall filling skies with shades of pink

She lets her tears burn the sheer surface of her skin

Even though she's found her love, her weak heart is wearing thin.

She believes he's perfect with his skin a tint of gold

With his words a perfect song she willl listen to what she's told

The songs in which they sang were the lyrics of their life

She wants to be his heart and forever be his wife

They now lie together; their dust a gentle sand

Even though their hearts are stagnant, she still holds her lovers hand.
