This Isn't Real?A Poem by Mercedes ChildersI’m hearing what you say, But I don’t think this is clear. Are you saying that what is reality Has never been real at all? What do you mean I do not feel? Because I am young, I am wrong? I am too young to feel things, Things like sadness and love? And the thoughts in head? What, are they not real either? Am I just living one hopeless, Lifelong delusion with no hallucinogen? But this is life, and I am not in a coma. There is no plug to pull on my reality. Don’t tell me that this isn’t real Because this is all that I have left in me. Don’t tell me that this isn’t real Because if this has never been real, Then everything I live for is fake, And I have no ground to stand on. Don’t tell me that this isn’t real Because this is all that I have left in me. © 2019 Mercedes ChildersAuthor's Note

I do read sometimes, and my favorite book is either "The Bodies We Wear" by Je.. more..Writing
