He's An Adventure

He's An Adventure

A Poem by Mercedes Childers
"

Just another poem about life; a love life, that is.

"

Over hills, under the sea, he’s an adventure
And I am the curious wanderer

I want to search the entire universe

And memorize every inch of earth

His eyes are the stars

Lighting up the night with every gaze

There are a million stories in an expansive space

And I want to be the astronaut that discovers them all.

His mind is the forest

Endless trees of thoughts and dreams

It is always autumn, the leaves of many colors falling

And I want to get lost and fall in every pile

His body is the ocean

Waving at me with every tide.

The water is warm and calm enough

And I want to dive right in and swim forever.

His love is the sun

Warming the world with the brightest rays

It is perfect, how it feels on my skin

And I want to lay underneath all day.

His heart is the secret temple

Strong, full, and slightly crumbling

Some of the bricks are cracked, and others are missing

And I want to discover, rebuild, and worship for eternity.

When you're really in love with someone, this is how it feels. I hope you really get into this one as much as I did while writing it.

' His body is the ocean - Waving at me with every tide. - The water is warm and calm enough - And I want to dive right in and swim forever. '

Your use of language has really dealt this poem with incredibly sensual and intense feelingse. There's metaphorical wonder throughout: 'universe' for/to 'him'. So hope your adventure achieves what you desire but, but beware the dangers of such a long journey!
