The Girl WhoA Poem by Mercedes ChildersHave you ever seen The Girl who hides? I promise, it’s easy to find her. She walks around with her hair in her face. She puts her hood up when she gets the chance. She softly sings to herself to put her to ease. And she sticks to the side unless pulled back by a friend. Have you heard about The Girl who does stupid things? I guarantee you’ve talked about her at least once. People say she’s really crazy. She’ll do anything you ask her to. She’s risked her health once or twice. And she doesn’t care what the rules say. Have you ever talked to The Girl who is silent? If you listen, you can hear her speak. She’s never actually quiet. She speaks softly under her breath. She’s afraid to say what’s on her mind. And she never tries to bother anyone with her words. Have you ever noticed that these girls complete One Girl who is The Girl? No. Because The Girl is not popular. The Girl is not a sex toy. And The Girl is not dead. So nobody notices The Girl. The Girl is Invisible. © 2018 Mercedes ChildersFeatured Review

I do read sometimes, and my favorite book is either "The Bodies We Wear" by Je.. more..Writing
