Loveless

I wrote this when I first found out why people put shields over them. I still find it hard.

A sorrowed soul

so torn with grief

he yearns for love

his one belief

tied to a stone

eternal weight

immortal life

a heartless fate

In silence slumbers

eyelids dark

the eyes behind

bleed gray and stark

the pity, strong

the will is weak

his passion lit

but heart so meek

Afraid to love

Afraid to wait

A master of

his febrile hate

So sits he

The world above

Cannot unseal

his iron love.
