Run

Run

A Poem by Meraki

I'd rather immerse myself
Into another
Than face myself sometimes

Then I pick my head up
And wonder why
I allowed myself to  drown
For so long

The world so beautiful
It's colors so bold
Differences so unique
But its tragedies

I cannot look away
It is all I want to do
And soon enough someone else
Blocks my view

I thought it was me
No,
I'm running from a torturous reality

I feel that way often. I suppose the only consolation is that the world has always been like this in one way or another. But progress does seem sometimes to be retrospective
A GOOD WRITE.
