This tale of mine

This tale of mine

A Poem by Meraki

I was once led to believe
That an adventure
Was only for stories,
Heroes and heroines
Not for the 'real world'
As they call it.

A figment of the imagination
Best left in the archaic times
When men believed in
Fantastical tales of knights and dragons
Sea monsters and sirens
Giants with one eye
And beasts that claimed the land, seas and skies.

Of course now I believe they lied,
It's a journey
An experience.
Not something left for story books
Romanticized fantastical tales of the impossible
Though I don't believe they're impossible.

They are people and chapters
And lessons
In our lives
Often times overlooked or ignored
Wrongfully of course.

We've never noticed the adventure
The experience
The story we call life.
Pay close attention my friend
How many roles have you played
Within your tale?
Is it worthy to be read?
Even by a pug-nosed snail?

I've played the villan
I was a victim and a supporting role
I'm now a heroine
Not yet a princess
A fair maiden perhaps
I may soon become a huntress
Then a philosopher
A queen
A healer
Eventually a mother
Forever a scholar
Ah, my tale is full of twists
And many turns
Angels and daisies even a few slides.

Oh and let's not forget those
Wonderful blue eyes

May it forever be exciting
This adventure of mine.
